Sadly, due to the torrential downpours, this Sundays Fun Bowls Competition, 30th August, has had to be cancelled until further notice. Please inform anybody you can who you know have entered the competition. Just a small laugh for you all in the second picture!!
**PLEASE NOTE**
Everyone who plays Darts, Snooker and Bowls for the Club, MUST be fully paid up, and registered as a member of Wallasey Central Conservative Club. Please ensure you are up to date.
Hi Folks
Just to make you aware, Mike Costall is stepping down from his role as Chairman of the club.
I as club President, want to express my deepest appreciation for his exceptional leadership, vision, and dedication over the many years of service Mike has given our club and continues to do so. His guidance has not
only shaped the direction of our wonderful club but has also inspired those of us fortunate enough to serve alongside him on the committee. He has been integral in making the club what it is today!
Mike joined the club in 1974, joined the committee in 1988, and became Chairman in 1997 to present day, an incredible 29 years! However, not only was he chairman of the main club, he was chairman of the club bowls section as well. He was also charman of the’ Wallasey Bowls Association’ for many years giving them the benefit of his wisdom and experience.
He not only helped with the general maintenance of the bowling green getting it ready for the bowls season in all weathers! He also supplied the flagstones that surround the green at no cost to the club. He helped build the smoking shelter and put the roof on it, helped fit the new fencing that surrounds the green, helped Ronnie Hitchmough fit an external toilet for the convenience (excuse the pun) of our members, all unseen and unpaid, done for the members to enjoy!
Mike and his wife Sylvia also enjoy the social side of the club, are popular and as familiar as the furniture we sit on! They also enjoy going on the members club annual holidays in the U.K.
Although he passes the chairman’s role to Brian McKeown, the good news is Mike will remain as a general committee member continuing to share his experience and advice.
So, on behalf of the committee and our fabulous members, I wish you every happiness in this new chapter of your life. May your retirement be filled with good health, joy, and the freedom to pursue the passions you’ve long cherished.
We owe you a massive debt of gratitude!
Club President

Thanks to the organisers Jimmy, Jan, Nigel and Joan!!
Join us for the FUN BOWLS DAY Bank Holiday, Sunday 30th August. See poster to the right with all the details 😁
A great turnout on Sunday 19th April to remember a special lady JULIE MURPHY, who sadly left us two years ago on this day. Thanks to Val, Sarah and KELLE for organising a fitting Remembrance Day.
Congratulations to our Stewardess KELLE, who has now been in charge for one year on 30 March.
END OF AN ERA, AS ENTERTAINMENT MANAGER ROY STEPS DOWN
After nine years, of booking artists from scratch, Roy has decided it’s time to step down. The club needed transforming, and Roy certainly did that! Those who weren’t present at the Club on New Year’s Eve, Roy was presented with this certificate, which was put into a lovely frame by Stewardess KELLE. Ray read out “his Roy Smith version” of Auld Land Syne! He was also given a bottle of brandy, and his wife Lesley, presented with a lovely bunch of flowers. Roy will still attend the Club, but now in a more relaxed manner…even though he booked ALL next year’s artists in December! Thanks for the memories, and wonderful artists you have brought to the Club Roy.
